Daniel Van Blerkom is co-founder of Swirlabs, which specializes in sensors for the most demanding applications. Prior to co-founding Swirlabs, he co-founded Forza Silicon, a custom image sensor design house that was acquired by Ametek, Inc in 2018. Daniel was with Photobit Corporation from 1998 to 2001. He holds 22 image sensor patents and was co-recipient of the 2007 Jack Raper Award for Outstanding Technology Directions Paper at ISSCC. He joined the Board of Directors for the International Image Sensor Society (IISS) in 2017, and was the General Co-Chair for the 2019 International Image Sensor Workshop (IISW). He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of California, San Diego, and a B.S. In EECS from the University of California, Berkeley.
